On Monday, February 27, 2023, as part of the Erasmus mundus project "Design and Implementation of Master Degree in Palliative Care", a working meeting was held with members of the Department of Palliative Medicine of the University Hospital of Cologne, one of the partners within the European Palliative Academy. Given their previous recognized experience and good practice in the field of palliative care, one of the planned activities of the "Design and Implementation of Master Degree in Palliative Care" project is a meeting with the European Palliative Care Academy. The overall goal of the European Palliative Care Academy is to improve palliative care in Europe by helping to close the gap in continuing education. The aim of the course at the European Palliative Care Academy is to support future leaders develop the necessary skills, abilities and expertise to improve palliative care across Europe and to meet future challenges in the field.
We thank Prof. Dr. Raymond Voltz, the Director of Center and Chair of Palliative Medicine for the productive discussion and guidance to improve and complete the study program aimed at raising standards in palliative care. We look forward to future collaboration on similar projects.
