On May 24, 2023. within the framework of the Fizio znalac project, a scientific workshop entitled "Cupping therapy in the role of detoxification of the organism" was held. The leader of the workshop was Ivan Veber, mag. physioth. The aim of the workshop was to familiarize the participants with the ancient Chinese technique of alternative medicine - cupping therapy, which is based on a clinical and scientific approach. At the beginning of the workshop, the participants were familiarized with the origin and history of the technique itself. As with any technique, there are certain situations where we will not use cupping therapy, but during the workshop the focus was on cases where the effects of this ancient technique have been shown to have numerous positive effects on overall human health. The decompression component of cupping therapy represents the third dimension of tissue treatment, as the creation of a vacuum in the cupping head allows the skin and subcutaneous tissue to be lifted to the surface, which cannot be achieved with manual therapy. The participants were familiarized with the methods of application and the mechanical, chemical and neurological effects of the therapy, as well as its role in detoxification of the body. After the theoretical part, the participants proceeded to the practical application of cupping therapy. Nowadays, toxins are all around us, in the air we breathe, in the food we eat and in the products we use. Therefore, the main focus of the scientific workshop was to cleanse the body of toxins and impurities from the environment and analyze the resulting "circles" on the body of the participants.
