On May 6 and 9, 2024, several workshops were held for students of the 1st year of physiotherapy in Orahovica and the 1st year of nursing in Osijek as part of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer College Career Week in Osijek:
- "Healthy aging - prevention of various diseases in older people (simulation of aging)", led by Karla Rožac and Nikolina Lazić
- "Interdisciplinary team for the elderly, the importance of cooperation between nurses and physiotherapists", leaders: Željko Mudri, Marija Barišić
- "The importance of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in the elderly", leaders: Marin Buljan, Ana Vukelić, Sena Bogdanović, Meri Reili, Dorothea Bedeković, Ivan Veber
The workshops were held for the purpose of informing students about the professional development of the most represented population group in the Republic of Croatia. The aim was to familiarize students with the difficulties of older people, show them how to prevent falls and encourage them to be physically active, with an emphasis on the prevention of cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions.
The workshops also emphasized the importance of teamwork between nurses and physiotherapists, i.e. cooperation between nurses and physiotherapists and the need for team communication for the benefit of the elderly.
