The international exhibition of innovations, prototypes and business plans INOVA/BUDI UZOR took place in Zagreb from September 26 to 28, 2023 under the motto "Dare to create!" The main organizers of this year's exhibition were the Association of Croatian Innovators, the Association of Innovators Zagreb, TERA Tehnopolis d.o.o. and the Croatian Association of Innovator Entrepreneurs (HUIP) from Osijek, as well as the support of patrons, partners and sponsors. A total of 450 exhibits from 23 participating countries and a total of 119 business plans were presented at the exhibition, 8 of which made it to the final round. Following the INOVA/BE A MODEL 2023 exhibition in Zagreb, TERA Tehnopolis d.o.o. and the Croatian Association of Innovators-Entrepreneurs organized an award ceremony for this year's achievements of students, high school students, innovators, innovative entrepreneurs and family businesses. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the TERA Tehnopolis premises.
The GRAND PRIX for the best innovation in 2023 went to the team from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, led by the main author, Prof. Martina Smolić, MD, PhD, vice Dean for Science and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, with the innovation Cell models for evaluating the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists in the translational approach to the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, coauthors: Ana Petrović, Lucija Kuna Roguljić, Tea Omanović Kolarić, Marija Hefer, Dunja Igrec, Karla Rožac, Kristina Bojanić, Vjera Mihaljević, Renata Sikora, Nikola Raguž- Lučić, Tomislav Kizivat, Robert Smolić, George Y. Wu and Aleksandar Včev. The main organizers of this year's exhibition awarded a special prize to Assoc. prof. Kristina Bojanić, MD, PhD, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, for the best innovation in the application of science Radiological model for evaluating the use of contrast mammography in the treatment of suspicious breast findings, coauthors: Justinija Steiner, Ana Petrović, Renata Sikora, Tamer Salha, Robert Smolić, Aleksandar Včev and Martina Smolić.
At the award ceremony, the director of TERA Tehnopolis d.o.o., Ana Nikšić Šarić, univ.spec.oec, addressed those present, presenting the successful results achieved this year. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of strategic partner institutions, Vedrana Gado, B.Sc. representative of the Regional Office of the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP), Prof. Ph.D. Anamarija Delić from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, also a member of the jury of this year's BE A MODEL competition and Dipl. Info. (FH) Birgit Boehning, Vice President of the Croatian Association of Innovators-Entrepreneurs.
