BASIC ACTIVITY
The basic activity of the Institute for Integrative Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery is scientific activity in the field of biomedicine and health, i.e. gynaecology and endoscopy. The Institute includes these scientific-teaching constituents: Department of gynaecology and obstetrics with the following integral units: gynaecology, pathology in pregnancy, postpartum care, neonatology and delivery room with pre-delivery room and operating theatre for obstetric operations. Additionally there is also a day hospital with an operating theatre for small surgeries and endoscopic surgeries. In the policlinic of the Institute there are examination rooms: gynaecologic and subspecialist ones – gynaecologic oncology and urogynaecology as well as the subspecialist examination room for fetal medicine. Besides the mentioned policlinic’s examination rooms there is also an ultrasound room with the most modern 4D ultrasound scanner. Furthermore, there is a library, a classroom and a lecture room. The programme of integrative gynaecology and endoscopy is conducted by a multidisciplinary team lead by a gynaecologist, with the team consisting of paediatricians, surgeons, anaesthesiologists and other medical staff with high school or higher education; nurses, midwives, a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
Team work and an integrative approach are the key to timely identification of disorder diseases, treatment and rehabilitation. Special emphasis is put on comorbidities, especially with somatic diseases and disorders because they occur very frequently and compromise the course of the primary disease and interfere with the choice and effectiveness of treatment and with the application of the most modern endoscopic methods in gynaecology. The treatment is conducted through personalised approach along with application of the most modern procedures, medicines, taking into account the newest guidelines, in addition to individualised pharmacotherapy along with monitoring and supervision of interactions and side-effects, through group and individual therapy, and humanisation in the interaction between the medical staff and the patients while respecting recent scientific and expert findings. The goal of integrative gynaecology and endoscopy is to improve life quality and satisfaction of our patients, to reduce treatment expenses and to raise the quality of treatment. The goal of this specific programme is to scientifically prove that morbidity is reduced within integrative gynaecology, obstetrics and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and to improve treatment and in the end life quality.
