SUBJECT MATTER OF THE SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH ACTIVITY OF THE INSTITUTE FOR NURSING “PROF. DR. SC. RADIVOJE RADIĆ” OF THE FACULTY OF DENTAL MEDICINE AND HEALTH OSIJEK

The scientific-research, as well as expert and educational activities of the Institute for Nursing “Prof. dr. sc. Radivoje Radić” will be executed primarily within the following fields of nursing:

  • in the field of health care based on scientific evidence: evidence-based nursing practice
  • in the field of nursing philosophy
  • in the field of health care quality
  • in the field of ethics and bioethics in nursing
  • in the field of clinical nursing
  • in the field of palliative care
  • in the field of health care theory 
  • in the field of nursing history

Within the institute of nursing „Prof. dr. sc. Radivoje Radić“ there is a Laboratory for scientific and expert research in nursing. The work of the Laboratory for scientific and expert research in nursing entails quantity, quality and combined research in the field of nursing, preparation and execution of national and international scientific projects in the field of nursing, preparation and editing the nursing scientific-expert journal, organisation and execution of national and international scientific-expert meetings, writing activities and printing of university course books, handbooks as well as protocols in the field of nursing. The initiative of the Institute is to introduce expert medical reports in the field of health care. The Laboratory is equipped with modern furniture and equipment for scientific-research work (computers, unlimited Internet access and access to scientific bases, computer programs for quantity and quality data processing, programs to discover plagiary, relevant domestic and foreign literature from the field of nursing).

The following laboratory operates within the Institute:

BASIC ACTIVITY

The basic activity of the Institute for Nursing “Prof. dr. sc. Radivoje Radić” is scientific activity in the field of nursing, especially in conducting scientific research, projects and publications of scientific papers. 

The programme of the Institute for Nursing will be based on arranged scientific-research projects, national and international projects as well as teaching, research and promotional activities in the field of biomedicine and health. 

Research will include application of quantitative, qualitative and combined research approach and methods when describing specific phenomena. A significant number of registered, relevant researches in nursing use the qualitative and combined approach to examine human reactions in conditions of health and/or sickness. 

The Institute for nursing also conducts a systematic examination and evaluation of nursing procedures and outcomes in different conditions, which helps to put the theory and laws of nursing into everyday clinical practice.


ACTIVITIES OF THE INSTITUTE
  1. systematic scientific, developmental and expert research in the field of nursing, 
  2. scientific education and training, as well as maintenance and development of scientific infrastructure,
  3. launching a scientific-expert journal in the field of nursing, 
  4. launching and supporting writing and printing university course books, manuals, booklet and protocols in the field of nursing, 
  5. publishing and popularising results of scientific and expert research conducted within the Institute,
  6. collaboration with national and international institutions when executing scientific research,
  7. collaboration with higher education institutions when conducting undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study programmes in accordance with the Law and the signed agreements with higher education institutions, 
  8. organisation of international and national scientific and expert meetings, conferences, courses of permanent education, workshops etc.,
  9. activities to promote public health,
  10. teaching activities within undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate university studies of nursing at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, as well as the planned establishment of  the Postgraduate specialist studies,
  11. all other activities, foreseen by the Statute of the University in Osijek and the Statute of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health.


TEACHING ACTIVITY

The employees of the Institute for Nursing “Prof. dr. sc. Radivoje Radić” are currently involved in conducting several study programmes: undergraduate university study of nursing, graduate university study of nursing, undergraduate and graduate university study of physiotherapy, and doctoral study programme of Biomedicine and health (at the Faculty of Medicine Osijek).

When the Institute for Integrative for Nursing “Prof. dr. sc. Radivoje Radić” was established, a certain number of scientists had to be employed pursuant to the Law.
