Budapest brought together dental students from across Europe in late August, with FDMZ student Karla Tadić among those representing Croatia at the 78th EDSA Summer Meeting.
Held at Semmelweis University from 23 to 28 August 2026, the meeting is one of the flagship events of the European Dental Students’ Association (EDSA). The six-day programme combined expert lectures, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, giving participants the chance to exchange ideas, explore different educational and clinical approaches, and build connections with peers from across Europe.
Founded in 1988, EDSA has grown into one of Europe’s largest dental student networks, representing more than 70,000 students from 182 dental schools in 35 countries. Its work promotes education, research and innovation, international mobility, and collaboration among future dental professionals.
The Croatian delegation in Budapest included Karla Tadić from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, Luka Hrupački, Croatia’s National Delegate to EDSA, Matea Baranović from the University of Zagreb, and Nikolina Smajkan from the University of Split.
For our students, participation in international meetings such as this goes well beyond attending lectures and workshops. It creates opportunities for future exchanges, new academic and professional collaborations, and stronger links with the wider European dental community.
We are proud to see FDMZ represented on the European stage and congratulate Karla on her initiative and on representing our Faculty and the University of Osijek with enthusiasm and professionalism.
