From October 12 to 16, 2026, physiotherapy students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek participated in the Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) titled "Therapeutic Energy: How Physical Medicine Transforms Physiotherapy?", held at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
Throughout the program, students attended lectures and practical workshops focused on contemporary methods in physical medicine and their application in physiotherapy. They explored shockwave therapy, rehabilitation robots utilizing electromyography (EMG)-triggered movement, modern technologies in neurorehabilitation, and the use of diagnostic ultrasound within the rehabilitation process. Additionally, they gained new insights into the fundamentals of research work.
The program also included a visit to the Education and Medical Simulation Centre, as well as study visits to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and Kraków, where students had the opportunity to learn about the history and principles of therapy conducted in underground health and rehabilitation environments.
By participating in this international program, the students expanded their professional knowledge, encountered innovative therapeutic approaches, and exchanged experiences with peers from an international academic setting.
