As part of the Erasmus+ mobility program, Prof. Dr. Sc. Robert Smolić and Prof. Dr. Sc. Martina Smolić from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek visited the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo, where they were hosted by Prof. Dr. Sc. Esmeralda Santacruz Salas from the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy.
The stay was extremely fruitful, especially within the framework of the Colours Alliance, a European university network to which the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and the University of Castilla-La Mancha belong. During the visit, cooperation agreements were signed between the two institutions, which include student and teacher mobility and joint participation in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in the field of midwifery, which colleagues in Toledo are currently developing.
Professors Smolić also took this opportunity to visit the University Hospital in Toledo, where they were hosted by the Head of the Gastroenterology Clinic, and professional experiences in the field of clinical practice and research were exchanged.
They also visited the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Biochemistry (Facultad de Ciencias Ambientales y Bioquímica) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Sc. Cristina Pintado Losa. On that occasion, it was agreed to launch a joint research CoLab within the Colours Alliance, with the aim of further strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation and innovation in the field of biomedical sciences.
This visit represents an important step in the international positioning of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek and contributes to the development of new forms of teaching and research cooperation within the European higher education area.
