On October 16th and 17th, 2025, employees of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek visited colleagues and project partners from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Novi Sad. The visit was organized as part of the international project DAADRAC (Development of Anticancer Agents for Drug-Resistant Cancers), which is implemented as part of the Interreg IPA cross-border cooperation program Croatia – Serbia (HR-RS00053), and the aim of the meeting was to hold a workshop and exchange knowledge and experience between partner institutions.
During the first day of the visit, our employees met with colleagues from Serbia, after which a working meeting of the project team was held. Then they had the opportunity to tour the city, get acquainted with its cultural and scientific significance and strengthen friendly relations with colleagues from Serbia. The second day was dedicated to a workshop where the results of the research conducted as part of the project were presented.
At the workshop, lectures were held on current topics of the problem of treating cancer resistant to conventional therapy and the results of research on the project were presented by the teachers of our Faculty Marija Hefer, MChem, Ana Petrović, MD, Vice Tomičić, MSc, Assist. Prof. Nikola Raguž Lučić, MD, PhD, Prof. Robert Smolić, MD, PhD, Prof. Martina Smolić, MD, PhD and Prof. Aleksandar Včev, MD, PhD, together with colleagues and associates Sebastijan Spajić, MD, from the Clinical Hospital Center Osijek and Kristina Duspara, MPharm with the Public Health Scientific Institution Medical Center “Dr. Mustafa Sehovic” in Tuzla.
This visit further established the value of scientific cooperation between institutions in the region and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in oncological disease research.
