NETNEP 2022, the 8th International Nurse Education Conference (SPAIN)

In Spain, the international scientific conference "8th International Nurse Education Conference" with the central theme "From Education to Impact - Transforming Nursing and Midwifery Education" took place from October 19 to 22 in Sitges/Barcelona. NETNEP has been the world's leading conference in the field of nursing education for 15 years and is organized by two renowned scientific journals in the field of nursing education: Nurse Education Today (NET) and Nurse Education in Practice (NEP) and the publishing house ELSEVIER. The first NETNEP conference was held in Canada in 2006 and since then it has been held regularly in different countries around the world (Ireland, Australia, USA, Netherlands, Spain, etc.).

 

This year's conference was attended by about 700 presenters from a total of 53 countries, who presented about 350 oral presentations and 350 posters. The specific topics of the conference were: Teaching and Learning in Clinical Settings - Clinical Education; Assessment and Evaluation in Clinical Settings; New Technologies, Simulation and Social Media in Teaching; Innovation and Curriculum Development; Evidence and Educational Discourse; Research and Scholarship; Professional Development and Leadership. From the Republic of Croatia, two higher education nursing institutions (from Osijek and Split) participated in the conference.

 

The teachers of the Department of Nursing "prof. Ph.D. Radivoje Radić" and the Department of Nursing and Palliative Care of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek (Associate Professor Robert Lovrić, Ph.D., Ivana Barać, Ph.D., Štefica Mikšić, Ph.D. Jasenka Vujanić, Ph.D., Jadranka Plužarić, M.Sc. Med. Tech. and Željko Mudri, M.Sc. Med. Tech.) actively participated in the conference with a poster entitled "Nursing students' expectations of clinical mentors as a variable component over time and a predictor of quality clinical education". The poster presents a combined longitudinal (mix methods) study aimed at providing deeper insight into the intensity, nature, and causes of changes in nursing students' expectations of their clinical mentors over the three-year study. The poster was presented at the conference by Associate Prof. Robert Lovrić, Ph.D.
