In the sixth year of the integrated undergraduate and postgraduate program in dentistry at the college, the focus of the elective English 6 is primarily on practical application, i.e., on the use of dental terminology in English in the context of practical examples (case studies) in the areas of: Emergency situations in dentistry, genetics and oral health, oral health in children, prosthodontics, orthodontics.
By adopting a certain number of the most common word bases, prefixes and suffixes, students master a kind of tool that enables them not only to recognize a large number of medical terms, but also to form words as needed.
The goal of the complete English curriculum (English for Dentistry) is to facilitate students' pursuit of professional literature in English and to train them for the process of continuous (self-)education that will be an indispensable part of their future professional life by practicing the skills of finding, summarizing and, above all, presenting data and information.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Determine the knowledge about medical suffixes, prefixes, and bases of formation bases when composing a medical term related to the above areas (parsing the offered and creating new medical terms)
2. Critically judge and effectively search data on the Internet and in the professional literature, select useful information, summarize, and present it, taking into account the visual identity of the materials presented materials, the correct spelling and pronunciation of medical terminology, and general English language.
3. Compare medical terms related to prosthetics, orthodontics, emergency conditions in dental medicine, and sports dental medicine (in English) with similar terminology in Croatian;
4. Compare and differentiate dental terminology in English and Croatian related to specific examples of medical conditions - case studies: Dental fusion, Chronic periapical abscess, Oligodontia, Autoimmune blisters in gingiva etc.
