On Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, an educational workshop titled "Transdisciplinarity in Practice"* concluded, organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, and the Center for Early Development. The training was held online over four weeks via the Zoom platform.
Lecturers Dora Marinić, Master of Educational Rehabilitation, PhD candidate, and Iva Barić, Master of Physical Therapy, spoke about the concept of transdisciplinarity and the possibilities of implementing it in daily practice through clear examples. Participants of the training had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of a transdisciplinary approach, family-centered care, and the importance of a thorough assessment and initial contact with the child and family.
In the final session, lecturer Assist. Prof. Oliver Vasilj, MD, PhD, discussed the application of transdisciplinarity from the perspective of a gynecologist and shared numerous examples of how transdisciplinary collaboration among professionals looks in his practice. Students were able to ask questions, which were answered with clear explanations and examples.
All participants who attended regularly and actively received a certificate of completion at the end of the training. The Student Council of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health expresses its gratitude to the Center for Early Development and all the lecturers who participated in this educational program.
