Teachers and students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek participated in the 2nd MUZZA Science Weekend in Osijek, which took place on March 14th and 15th, 2025, organized by the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. MUZZA Science Weekend is one of the most important science festivals in Croatia, dedicated to the popularization of science and technology, with the aim of promoting scientific literacy and stimulating interest in science and innovation.
Through three interactive workshops, visitors had the opportunity to explore the latest technologies in the field of dental medicine, biomedicine and biomechanics:
MAGIC DIGITAL TOOTH IMPRESSION
At this workshop, participants discovered how digital technology is changing the way dentists take impressions. In doing so, they learned how accurate 3D images of teeth and the oral cavity are recorded using a scanner, learned the advantages of digital impressions, and how this technology facilitates the work of dentists and enables better communication with dental laboratories.
MY VIRTUAL PATIENT
At this interactive workshop, with the help of a VR set, participants had the opportunity to become doctors and explore the body of their first "real" patient! The participants of the workshop also learned about pipetting with the help of real micropipettes that are used in the laboratories of the Faculty.
STEP INTO THE FUTURE: DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF BIOMECHANICS IN EVERY MOVEMENT!
In this interactive workshop, using the advanced Euleria Lab software, participants explored all the secrets of human movement! Through the game, they analyzed the biomechanics of walking, from balance to muscle activity, learned how to accurately measure movement and how to use this data to improve therapies and prevent injuries, and how technology helps in rehabilitation and optimization of therapeutic approaches.
We are proud of the contribution of our teachers and students who, with their knowledge and creativity, brought science closer to the general public and helped inspire a new generation of scientists!
