The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek has signed a Grant Agreement for the implementation of the project “Optimisation of Professional Practice to Support Competence Development and Career Guidance for Students in Response to the Needs of the Modern Healthcare System”, project reference SF.2.4.06.08.0021., the project leader is Prof. Martina Smolić, PhD.
The total project value amounts to EUR 304,610.23, of which EUR 298,518.02 has been awarded to the Faculty in the form of non-repayable grant funding. The project was selected for funding under the call “Enhancing Employability through Professional Practice in Higher Education.”
The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) under the Effective Human Resources Programme 2021–2027, with national co-financing. The call is aimed at strengthening the capacities of higher education institutions to improve student employability through the acquisition of practical skills, the enhancement and evaluation of professional practice programmes, the development of career guidance services, and closer cooperation among higher education institutions, students, and employers.
The project implemented by the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek aims to optimise the professional practice system in order to enable students to acquire practical knowledge, professional competencies, and experience aligned with the needs of the modern healthcare system. Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening career guidance, enhancing cooperation with healthcare institutions and employers, and preparing students more effectively for entering the labour market.
Through the implementation of this project, the Faculty continues to invest in the quality of education, stronger links between the academic and professional environments, and the creation of improved conditions for the professional development of future healthcare professionals.
