CLINICAL PROPEDEUTICS

The goal of the course is to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes to help with identifying basic symptoms of diseases. 

Taking medical history. Clinical diagnostics. Emergencies in medicine. Clinical features of a myocardial infarct. Clinical features of internal bleeding. Clinical features of cerebrovascular diseases. Clinical features of severe metabolic disorders and intoxication.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Compare the physiological and pathophysiological functions of organ systems with the clinical picture of different disease states
  2. Critically evaluate symptoms and signs, values of vital parameters and laboratory indicators of the most common clinical conditions and diseases
  3. Self-assess the process of taking a medical history and conducting a physical examination including measurement of vital parameters and medical-technical procedures
  4. Predict clinical entities with respect to a set of signs and symptoms
  5. Conclude a working diagnosis and suggest further diagnostic procedures
  6. Argue adequate action in case of medical emergencies
