PUBLIC HEALTH

The course goal is to familiarise students with terms and issues relating to public health and enable them to apply and analyse public health issues and assess independently the causes and consequences. The aim of the course is to enable students to plan nursing procedures and measures in the field of public health independently.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the basic concepts in the field of public health (health, health care system, health economy);
  2. Identify risk factors that affect health in all groups of the community and analyze and link the relationship between them;
  3. Describe the methods of social intervention in the field of social security, unemployment and the health;
  4. Interpret the relationship between social needs and social protection, co-protection and self-protection;
  5. Plan nursing procedures and measures in the preventive-medical and social-medical aspect at all levels of health care;
  6. Assess the effects of nursing procedures and measures in preventive medical and socio-medical aspect;
  7. Implement health education of individuals, large and small groups, and critically evaluate the health service and its work;
