INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE

The objective of the course is to learn to check, improve and extend knowledge and skills, and to solve (diagnostic-therapeutic) specific patient reports at the office of the physical therapist

Specificities of the procedure in physical therapy in the evaluation of the etiology of the disease, prevention, diagnostics, treatment, disease complications and patient rehabilitation

Particularities of hospital and outpatient morbidity and mortality

Cooperation with consultants and differences in the work of family physicians and consultant specialists

Identification of the most common reasons for patients' arrival

Recognition of the impact of external factors on human diseases and health

Solving patient case reports – diagnosis and treatment management with patient's condition control

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. evaluate the basic principles of chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture / traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, herbal medicine, ayurveda, creative therapies (music therapy, aromatherapy, chromotherapy, movement therapy, etc.), spiritual therapy;
  2. assess the importance and methods of participation in the therapy;
  3. argue the importance of the integrative approach as a concept of health promotion and disease prevention;
  1. critically assess the importance of spiritual and psychological support for patients returning to daily life after a physical illness.
