PHYSICAL THERAPY IN SPORTS

The objectives of the course are to explain to the students the specificity of physical therapy in the rehabilitation of athletes, recreational athletes and athletes with disabilities; to introduce the students with the process of creating an efficient algorithm for the physical therapy treatment of injured athletes in all stages of the rehabilitation process and the preventive algorithm of physical therapeutic exercises for sports injuries in different sports disciplines; to show the students approaches and effects of surgical and pharmacological treatment of sports injuries; to teach the students the principles of sports training with proper selection of the type and quantity of training, depending on the needs of athletes and the goals of physical therapy; to teach the student to critically evaluate scientific and professional literature and critically

evaluate, assess and document physical therapy and the rehabilitation process of athletes.
