The objectives of the course are to show the student the methods of physiotherapeutic treatment of women, in accordance with their biological, anatomical, physiological and psychosocial differences; teach the students to design an effective prevention programme for selected diseases in women in the field of gynecology and obstetrics, at different stages of life (adolescence, reproductive period, menopause and old age); improve student’s reliability and accuracy in assessing the state of the locomotor system in various conditions and diseases; to teach the students the key diagnostic procedures, procedures and consequences of operative and pharmacological treatment of various conditions and diseases in the field gynaecology and obstetrics; to teach the students to critically evaluate the existing and relevant professional and scientific literature and to use the acquired knowledge in the appropriate physical therapy treatment and disease prevention programme.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the etiology and pathophysiology of diseases and conditions in gynecology and obstetrics at different stages of life
- Define key diagnostic and physiotherapeutic procedures for obstetric and gynecological diseases and conditions and chronic diseases more frequent in the female population
- Explain the processes and effects of surgical and physiotherapeutic treatment of gynecological diseases and indications for the use of physiotherapy in gynecology
- Valorize the role of the physiotherapist in the health team involved in physical therapy
- Analyze international standards based on evidence
- Critically evaluate the relevant professional and scientific literature on the prevention and treatment of certain conditions and diseases and approaches to women's health
