HEALTH CARE OF CHILDREN IN INTENSIVE CARE UNITS

Introduce students to the methodology of working in the intensive care unit for children in the paediatrics department, the health needs of children with life threatening conditions and the specific characteristics of health care.

This course includes practical experience, promotes content that contributes to the healing and recovery of a child with life-threatening conditions. It focuses on factors that are life-threatening to the health of the child, and on the health care of a child with life-threatening conditions. It also includes content related to communication with the child and parents in the intensive care unit, pain relief in case of a child with life-threatening conditions and a dying child, relations with parents, as well as nursing care in the health care of a child with special health needs.
