HEALTH CARE OF ADULTS

Acquiring knowledge and skills of health care for patients who suffer from internal diseases, infectious diseases, and neurological disorders. The acquired knowledge and skills should enable understanding and implementation of specific health care for diseases in certain systems and organs of the patients who suffer from diseases of internal organs, infectious diseases, and neurological disorders.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1.     apply nursing procedures independently and/or in a professional team in accordance with the principles, standards, and legal regulations in patients suffering from internal diseases, neurological diseases, or infectious diseases.

2.     carry out the nursing care process, assessment of health care needs, goal setting, plan development and implementation of procedures, evaluation in patients with internal diseases, neurological diseases, and infectious diseases.

3.     keep nursing records.

4.     apply ethical principles and communication skills.

5.     apply teaching principles and techniques to patients suffering from internal diseases, neurological diseases and infectious diseases based on an assessment of educational needs.

6.     apply infection prevention measures and work rules in a safe manner.

7.     take responsibility for the implementation of the health care process in accordance with the principles, standards, and legal regulations.

8.     evaluate the goals and plans of nursing care in special areas of health care for patients with internal diseases, neurological diseases, and infectious diseases.
