HEALTH CARE OF ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS

Health care of oncological patients with emphasis on the most common nursing diagnoses and complications that occur as treatment side effects and the consequences of malignant diseases. Nursing medical issues, quality of life of oncological patients. Early detection of malignant diseases and promotion of healthy lifestyle that reduces the risk of malignant diseases. Nurse interventions in emergency situations in oncology. Self-protection procedures for the use of various therapeutic methods in the treatment of malignant diseases.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. assess the patient's condition and the need for health care of the oncology patient.

  3. recognize emergencies in oncology.
  4. interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in oncology patients.
  5. argue protective measures when applying chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
