Acquirement of additional knowledge necessary for participation in teamwork and professional and responsible physical therapy conducting.
Clinical examination of surgical patients; preparation of patients for operation; postoperative care. Recognition of complications after surgery and injury. Immobilization in bone-joint surgery. Indirect procedure with the patient after injury of locomotor system. Approach to the patient after specific surgical procedures.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze the organization of work in the surgical department
- Implement infection prevention measures in the surgical ward
- Analyze the specifics of physiotherapy care in preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients
- Assess the surgical patient's needs for physiotherapy interventions
- Apply interventions in special areas of surgical care of surgical patients in accordance with the principles, standards and legal regulations
- Evaluate the goals and plans of physiotherapeutic procedures in special areas of surgical care of surgical patients
