ONCOLOGICAL HEALTH CARE AND ONCOLOGY

Introduce students to the specific health needs of patients with malignant diseases and, on the basis of previously acquired knowledge about the health care process and scientific thinking, obtain knowledge about the best models of health care. Develop a student's correct attitude towards patients suffering from malignant diseases.

Definition of quality of life. Importance of quality of life assessment. The principle of evidence-based medicine in oncology. Design of testing the quality of life. Basic principles of treating malignant diseases and their impact on the quality of life. Effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and hormonal therapy. Side effects of onocological treatment. Evaluation of success of treatment of malignant disease. Review of the questionnaire for quality of life assessment. Relationship between quality of life and oncology treatment. Monitoring of oncology patients. Comorbidity in oncology patients and the quality of life.
