DENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY

The objective of the course is to educate dental hygienists about the principles of taking, processing and presenting dental photographs.

Application of photography in day-to-day clinical practices.

Difference between digital and conventional cameras, benefits of digital photography, basics of digital photography

Basic principles of intraoral photography, basic principles of extraoral photography, photographic standards, focus, depth of field, lighting, most common photography mistakes

Extraoral photography – profile and en face, standards of extraoral photography, facial symmetry, photogrammetry, reference points and other variables in photographic analyses

Intraoral photography: standard sets of photographs and principles, macrophotography, photographs of fillings, dental prosthetics, pathological changes in soft and hard tissues, anatomical formations and photographing during dental and surgical procedures

Transferring photographs to a computer, basics of storing and processing images on a computer.

Organising photographs, backup, sharing and sending photographs to remote computers, presentation of photographs.
