Acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for using information technology in day-to-day healthcare practices and for continuous acquisition of knowledge about various areas of expertise.

Defining basic IT concepts and its significance for developing knowledge and advancing professional work. Technical basis of IT systems – basic components and their function. Software required for computer system operation – system software, programming languages and applications. Basic forms of application of computers, with a particular focus on working with texts, databases and research and learning software. Using computers for communicating in local and global systems and types of computer-aided tasks. Developing models and simulations using a computer as support for decision-making. Applying IT to advance healthcare, with a particular focus on health information systems.
