Students will learn basic procedures of reanimation and first aid for all conditions that a life-threatening or harmful for a person’s health. They will get acquainted with first aid instruments.
First aid (legal and ethical viewpoints, injury mechanisms) and reanimatology, loss of consciousness, approaching injured or suddenly ill person, ensure breathing, establish circulation, order of procedures, bleeding, rescue methods, ways of transportation, immobilisation basics, first aid with acute intoxications.

After passing the exam in this course, the student will be trained in the following procedures:
- Assess emergency dental and medical conditions in a dental practice
- Assess the severity of the disease condition and appropriate emergency measures for life-threatening conditions
- Critically evaluate the use of basic techniques for monitoring vital functions
- Choose an adequate way to eliminate the threatening cause of death (suffocation, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest)
- Valorize the role of a team member in the cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedure
- Argue the choice of intervention during internist emergencies, shock, and care of the casualty according to different scenarios (bleeding, burns, frostbite, poisoning, bites / stings)
- Self-evaluate adequate communication with other health care workers in the office and emergency medical service staff
