Dental diseases 2

The aim of the course is the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of restorative dentistry and the acquisition of basic knowledge about the structure and pathological changes of pulp tissue. The goal is to train the student to diagnose, set a therapy plan, and treat advanced dental carious lesions and trauma to an injured tooth crown. The tasks of teaching are to learn clinically and radiologically to recognize carious lesions of teeth using modern diagnostic procedures. Students must acquire skills in making cavities for permanent fillings and processing them, and get acquainted with the characteristics of filling materials and their application. In addition to hard dental tissue diseases, students will be introduced to the basics of endodontics, which is a fundamental and specialist area of dental medicine that includes the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of pulp and preapical tissue diseases. Therefore, the task of the course is to acquaint students with the structure and function of pulp tissue, developmental, regressive and morphological anomalies of the endodontic space, pathological events in the endodontic and periapical tissue.

Deepening previously acquired knowledge on the care of carious lesions and the application of materials for permanent fillings; providing theoretical foundations on the structure and function of pulp tissue, the etiology of pathological changes in pulp and periapical tissue and their pathogenesis.
