The course teaches students about the normal growth and development of the jaw and face and the development of the dentition, the etiology and clinical picture of malocclusions and craniofacial anomalies, and the design of orthodontic appliances.
Growth and development of the face, jaw and dentition. Methods of monitoring growth and development. Occlusion keys. Etiology of malocclusion. Impression taking, casting and processing of gypsum models. Design and techniques of laboratory production of orthodontic appliances. Construction of plate mobile devices. Construction of functional devices. Construction of interceptive devices. Construction of fixed devices.
