Temporomandibular disorders

The aim of the course for the student is to acquire an understanding and knowledge of the complexities of temporomandibular disorders and their treatment.

Symptoms of temporomandibular disorders. Pain in the temporomandibular joint and facial muscles. Differential diagnosis of orofacial pain. Temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

After passing the exam in this subject, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify types of pain;
  2. To determine the mechanism and basic cause of temporomandibular joint disorders;
  3. Critically explain the differential diagnosis of temporomandibular pain;
  4. Valorize the effects of orofacial pain on other head and neck structures.
