Basics of Biostatistics

To know the purpose and type of statistical methods; to understand the basics of statistical processing; to be able to adequately present a number of data and results of statistical analyses; to be able to appropriately interpret the results of statistical analyses; to be able to appropriately plan and collect empirical data and to select appropriate statistical analysis methods for them; to be able to understand and critically evaluate statistical analyses described in expert and scientific literature.

Basic concepts of probability and statistics. Division of probabilities: binominal and normal. Principles and methods of data representation. Basics for estimating parameters and statistical assumptions. Confidentiality intervals. A univariate analysis of numerical variables. A univariate analysis of descriptive variables. Linear regression and correlation. Non-parametric statistical methods. Experimental planning and introduction to variance analysis. Basics of survival analysis.
